Description

Under the watchful eye of a government delegation, the official commissioning of the 300 KW Solar Farm in Coronie took place in a ceremonial manner. This solar power plant is part of the expansion and upgrade project which is being carried out with the help of a loan agreement between the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Ministry of Finance. This joyful fact took place on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

According to the President of the Republic of Suriname, His Excellency Chandrikapersad Santokhi, it is good to reflect on the usefulness of renewable energy and the negative effects of fossil energy on this day. He emphasized the importance of the transformation from fossil to renewable energy, after listing the consequences of CO2 emissions and global warming. Minister David Abiamofo of the Ministry of Natural Resources (NH) also confirmed the latter by indicating that the government should not only focus on the accessibility of electricity, but even more on increasing the guarantee of renewable energy. This is because the ministry has internationally committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), goal 7; guarantee electricity for everyone.

We at HSW Energy have had the pleasure of carrying out the total construction for Civil, Electrical & Mechanical works of this solar plant.
